Essential Responsibilities and Duties
• Review environmental assessment and work plan reports.
• Oversee remediation system installation and startup.
• Monitor remediation system operation, compliance, and maintenance.
• Manage remediation system material and chemical acquisition.
• Manage subcontractors.
• Preparation of remedial cost estimates for potential and known environmental liabilities.
• Evaluate data and prepare written proposals, cost estimates, and technical reports.
• Prepare budget estimates and work-scopes, primarily for engineering tasks.
• Oversee remediation conducted under the voluntary cleanup program in Maryland.
Education, Knowledge, Experience, Skills, and Abilities Required
• BA or BS degree in Engineering, Geology, or Environmental Science required
• Experience with managing environmental investigations and remediation projects at complex CERCLA or RCRA sites and MDE Voluntary Cleanup Program sites
• Field work experience in civil/environmental engineering, construction supervision a plus
• Experience managing project budgets
• Ability to manage multiple projects
• Excellent communication skills, including both oral and written
• Good working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Working familiarity with CERCLA, RCRA, TSCA, CAA, CWA, and NEPA.
