Hexcel is currently seeking an Environmental Program Manager for our Kent, WA location. You will be responsible for supporting variety of environmental systems to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements, including site permits, ISO14001 certificate, and corporate sustainability and best practices. To be successful in this role, you will collaborate with operations to prevent compliance deviations, impact to property and adjacent communities, and continually improve the strong EHS culture in place. Summary pay range: $93,599 - 160,000 annual salary. The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations: * Guide the strategic improvement of Kent's environmental management system, to include maturing a robust culture, prioritizing operational compliance with various environmental reporting obligations focused on continuous improvement in support of Hexcel's systems, procedures, and sustainability initiatives. * Collaborate with corporate and plant leadership to lead environmental permitting and compliance strategies, including leading the preparation of applications for environmental permits and plans that support current and future site operations. * Work with the site operational teams and EHS staff to ensure air emissions, hazardous waste volumes, wastewater and stormwater effluence and other environmental performance values are calculated and effectively managed. Review and approve chemical purchases for EHS related compliance and risks and recommend adequate controls. * Guide and support site leadership team to ensure adherence to the site's ISO 14001 and 45001 certifications. * Collaborate with and provide support to corporate initiatives/activities, including audits, leading site-specific environmental sustainability data collection. * Prepare and support the site team to deliver presentations, communications, and educational/training materials (e.g., leadership; line leaders; operators) to include environmental permitting, performance, and compliance status and actions, as necessary. * Provide support to represent Kent and Hexcel in meetings with environmental agencies, local community groups, NGOs and other relevant external stakeholder interactions as needed. * Collaborate in developing strategies and participate in negotiations with regulators, including permits and other appropriate activities in conjunction with corporate environmental and legal teams. * Support the Site EHS Team for health and safety programs such as emergency preparedness activities (planning, training, evacuation drills, reporting, etc.), chemical safety, HAZCOM, industrial hygiene monitoring, confined space entry, respiratory protection, EHS reviews, administrative, facilities/maintenance, etc. * Prepare and submit all required regulatory reports such as, EPCRA Tier II, Toxic Release Inventory (TRI), Annual Emissions Inventory, Notice of Compliance, other agency notifications or permit renewal applications. Collect environmental samples, data, and maintain instruments. Analyze environmental data and incorporate into key site and corporate performance indicators, where applicable. Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in environmental, chemical engineering, or equivalent technical degree required; master's degree is a plus. * Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental heavy roles, with experience in chemical management preferred. * Experience in aspects of environmental compliance (e.g., air, water, and/or waste) is required, with experience in supporting manufacturing operations preferred. * Experience in managing synthetic minor air permit, RCRA large quantity generator waste management, and direct/indirect effluent discharge permits. * Positive regulatory agency interaction, with a demonstrated ability and initiative to manage/prioritize technical projects. * Experience with WA State EHS regulations is preferred. * Demonstrated ability to train and guide cross functional leaders and across site operations (e.g., supervisors, operators, etc.). * Familiarity with environmental and sustainability programs (e.g., emissions reduction, waste reduction and recycling, reduction of water consumption). * Innovative problem solver, able to lead and guide others in support of key environmental management system goals and site operational priorities. * Professional certifications such as CHMM, QEP, CIH, RG/LHG, PE, or CSP preferred.
