$110,000 - $165,000 | Full-Time | ESOP

Our Client is a West Coast-based environmental consulting and engineering firm seeking a Senior Environmental Planner / Project Manager to join our Los Angeles team. This is a leadership opportunity for an experienced professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is ready to guide high-impact CEQA projects across transportation and land use sectors.

This role will manage a growing team of environmental planning professionals and play a key part in the firm's strategic growth across California and nationally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation and management of CEQA documents for complex transportation and land use projects.

  • Oversee project budgets, schedules, deliverables, and client relationships to ensure successful outcomes.

  • Mentor and manage staff, fostering technical growth and leadership development within the planning team.

  • Coordinate with internal technical experts and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with CEQA and related regulatory frameworks.

  • Contribute to and support firmwide growth strategies, including business development and cross-office collaboration.

  • Apply working knowledge of NEPA, Clean Water Act (CWA), Clean Air Act (CAA), Endangered Species Act (ESA), and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) regulations where applicable.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in environmental planning, with demonstrated expertise in CEQA compliance in California.

  • Strong experience managing CEQA processes for transportation and/or land use projects.

  • Familiarity with federal environmental regulations (NEPA, CWA, CAA, ESA, etc.) is highly desirable.

  • Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior staff, and deliver high-quality work.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, or related field.
