Our Client is a West Coast-based environmental consulting and engineering firm seeking a Senior Environmental Planner / Project Manager to join our Los Angeles team. This is a leadership opportunity for an experienced professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is ready to guide high-impact CEQA projects across transportation and land use sectors.
This role will manage a growing team of environmental planning professionals and play a key part in the firm's strategic growth across California and nationally.
Lead the preparation and management of CEQA documents for complex transportation and land use projects.
Oversee project budgets, schedules, deliverables, and client relationships to ensure successful outcomes.
Mentor and manage staff, fostering technical growth and leadership development within the planning team.
Coordinate with internal technical experts and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with CEQA and related regulatory frameworks.
Contribute to and support firmwide growth strategies, including business development and cross-office collaboration.
Apply working knowledge of NEPA, Clean Water Act (CWA), Clean Air Act (CAA), Endangered Species Act (ESA), and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) regulations where applicable.
10+ years of experience in environmental planning, with demonstrated expertise in CEQA compliance in California.
Strong experience managing CEQA processes for transportation and/or land use projects.
Familiarity with federal environmental regulations (NEPA, CWA, CAA, ESA, etc.) is highly desirable.
Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior staff, and deliver high-quality work.
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, or related field.
