Job Description
We are SLR Consulting (US), a 500+ coast-to-coast team of advisory, environmental/engineering, and regulatory professionals. We deliver environmental and sustainability services to our clients through the integration of over 30 advisory, technical environmental, and engineering disciplines to help clients address some of their most complex challenges around sustainability. - The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $105,000. Final agreed upon compensation will be commensurate with individual education, professional designation, experience, internal parity, and location.

Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Work with clients from a variety of industries or agencies
- Collect groundwater, surface water, and soil samples
- Prepare technical plans and reports
- Review State, Federal, and Local regulations for applicability to site cleanup
- Assist other SLR teams with work in a variety of disciplines including air monitoring, waste management, permitting, and compliance
- Travel to clients' facilities for inspections and document review
- Work within quality/budget/schedule expectations and scope-specific assignments
Qualifications/Education/Memberships:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Engineering, or related field required
- 5+ years of experience in environmental consulting required
- Proficient in fieldwork tasks such as soil sampling, groundwater sampling, borehole logging, well installation, soil-vapor sampling, and soil and groundwater remediation
- Excellent written/verbal communication and organization/analytical skills
- Ability to work on a team and independently in a fast-paced consulting environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of software
- Possess valid driver's license
- Willing to commit to field assignments of up to two weeks away from Anchorage
- Ability to travel by airplane and car, including frequent overnight travel during the field season
- Self-motivated and detail oriented
- Comfortable with public speaking
- Ability to effectively prioritize work and contribute to project teams
- Excellent time management skills
- Understands budgets and deadlines
- Needs little oversight on common tasks
- Dependable and predictable
- Professional work ethic
- Preferred:
- Master of Science degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Engineering, or related field
- Understanding of soil and groundwater contamination assessment & remediation (e.g., methods, chemistry)
- Knowledge of Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation and EPA regulations
- Skilled in writing technical documents and reports
- Ability to train and mentor junior staff
- Understanding of civil construction and industrial operations, including associated equipment, large and small
- Knowledge of chemistry and analytical methods for testing soil, water, or waste
- OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER Certification
Physical Demands
Position is office-based, but field work and travel may be required as part of this position. With or without reasonable accommodation, employees will occasionally be required to perform the following tasks:
- Ability to perform filed assignments lasting up to two weeks in duration
- Ability to work outdoors in a variety of climate conditions (including the Arctic)
- Ability to travel by airplane, helicopter, and car, including overnight travel
- Work at high elevations
- Frequently walk or climb stairs
- Lift and/or move equipment weighing up to 35 pounds
- Handle large items
