We are looking for an entry-level Aviation Engineering Professional interested in all aspects of project delivery who is willing to participate in planning, design, bidding, and construction phase services. In this role, the Aviation Engineering Professional will work alongside the aviation project team to provide excellent client service and deliver quality projects. The professional will
- Have a passion for the field of aviation and desire to build familiarity with FAA standards, specifications, orders, and Airport best practices.
- Resolve complex engineering problems in a team environment.
- Use advanced techniques to modify and extend civil engineering theories, precepts and practices.
- Perform as part of the design team for major phases of large land/site development, airfield improvements, and related projects
- Consult with supervisor on unusual problems and developments and manage changes and questions.
- Use strong communication skills in a teamwork environment including interfacing with clients, review agencies, subconsultants, contractors, and other design team members.
- Prepare and review technical specifications, construction plans, contract documents, and estimates.
- Participate in contract bidding and construction administration both from the office and field
- Develop experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D platform
- Be willing to provide on-site inspection and/or construction management services at various airport projects throughout the region
- Display strong communication and interpersonal skills and be willing to work in a fast-paced consulting environment with multiple deadlines

Here's what you'll need
- Four-year degree in Engineering (BSCE or equivalent), civil focus preferred
- Zero to two years’ experience in Aviation engineering or consulting.
- Experience with Civil site design using AutoCAD and Civil3D software
- Experience with the development and reading/interpretation of reports, plans, and specifications
- Registered EIT or a plan for sitting for the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam within 1 year.
- Ability to obtain Professional Engineering (PE) certification (or gain reciprocity) in North Carolina within 4 years
- Ability to obtain airport security credentials at a FAR Part 139 Airport
This position will require up to 25% travel with opportunities for both in-office and site/field experience.

The base salary range for this position is $58,656.00 to $80,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
