About The Role

As an Enterprise Architect, you will be part of our EPMO team initially assisting on a project, before transitioning permanently into the Information Technology team, both sit within our Shared Services function.

We are open to this candidate being based out of any major Australian city, highly flexible (hybrid) working arrangements, via a mix of on-site and remote working will be available.

Key Elements Of This Position Will Include

  • Provide vision, leadership, and enterprise architecture guidance to ensure the alignment of technology, business structures, and processes with BDO’s strategic objectives.
  • Develop and maintain enterprise architecture framework.
  • Primary deliverables will include high-quality enterprise architecture models, design artifacts, roadmap and change initiatives that align with and support business objectives.

The priorities and focus areas of this position are as follows:

  • Ensure the enterprise architecture aligns with BDO's strategic goals and objectives by understanding the business strategy and translating it into a practical architecture roadmap.
  • Develop and secure endorsement for the enterprise architecture landscape, including the approach and relevant design artifacts, to ensure successful implementation.
  • Establish and embed a governance framework to ensure that all architectural decisions comply with organisational policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, EPMO and IT to ensure seamless integration and alignment of enterprise architecture initiatives. This includes facilitating communication, managing dependencies, and providing architectural guidance to support project delivery and strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with data teams to ensure data management requirements are integrated into all enterprise architecture activities and that data governance practices are consistently followed throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct assessments of new and emerging technologies to determine their potential impact on the enterprise architecture and recommend adoption where appropriate.
  • Identify and mitigate architectural risks, ensuring that the enterprise architecture supports operational stability including business continuity and disaster recovery plans.

Qualifications And Experience

  • Demonstrated expertise and ability to lead and facilitate activities related to the review and development of enterprise architecture methodologies, templates, processes, and standards.
  • Proven ability to establish and manage relationships with IT staff, customers, third-party suppliers, vendors, and executive stakeholders, with a track record of meeting or exceeding customer expectations and optimizing business outcomes.
  • Extensive knowledge and demonstrated experience as an enterprise architect or consultant in multiple IT domains within a complex organisation with a large IT environment.
  • Strong working experience with enterprise architecture methodologies, project management methodologies, and in the development and review of architectural options and roadmaps.
  • Demonstrated ability to compile and deliver persuasive and concise presentations, briefings, and reports to senior executives, and to negotiate successful project options, designs, and outcomes that align with both project and corporate strategic directions.
  • Experience with Workday and Microsoft D365 Sales is highly desirable.
  • Certification and working knowledge of TOGAF is desirable
