Sr. Technology Enterprise Architect (Applications/Systems/Infrastructure) - (Energy/Oil industry experience is a must)
Location: Either in Austin, TX | White Plains, NY or Chicago, IL — Hybrid, 3 days/week onsite

Compensation: $220,000 – $260,000 + 20% Bonus

My growing energy client is seeking a Director of IT/OT Enterprise Architecture to lead the strategic design and implementation of their enterprise-wide technology roadmap. This individual will play a key role in shaping the future of IT/OT architecture across applications, data, infrastructure, and business processes, ensuring technology solutions are scalable, efficient, and aligned with evolving business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and maintain a 3-year enterprise architecture roadmap to guide technology innovation and transformation.
- Represent the company's interests on the Global Architecture Board (GAB), helping shape enterprise-wide standards and decisions.
- Develop and enforce architectural standards, technology guardrails, and design principles across the IT/OT landscape.
- Align architecture strategy with corporate objectives, collaborating with Strategy, Portfolio, and Digital Solutions teams.
- Lead enterprise-wide initiatives around DevOps transformation, system integration, and application rationalization.
- Oversee architecture for both in-house products and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) systems.
- Guide the architect guild and business domain solution architects on governance, roadmapping, and software evaluation.
- Partner with business units to align architecture with business needs while ensuring data integrity and governance.
- Contribute to innovation initiatives such as technology prototyping and competitive landscape scanning.
- Own architectural documentation, reporting, and advisory on technical design standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related field (Master's preferred).
- Enterprise Architecture certifications (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman, CEA) are highly preferred.
- 15+ years of IT experience (12+ with a Master's), including 5+ years in enterprise architecture leadership.
- Strong experience with cloud, data, and platform architecture in energy or large-scale industrial environments.
- Demonstrated ability to build and lead enterprise architecture frameworks, roadmaps, and standards.
- Skilled in stakeholder engagement, technical decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and strategic planning capabilities.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to field and office locations.
