Packaging Design Technician, Nefab Americas

Nefab Group is on a growth journey, and we are dependent on high-performance people to succeed. We are now looking for a Packaging Design Technician to join our team in Nefab America.

As a Packaging Design Technician, you will be responsible for:

• Perform packaging fit checks on new and existing packaging design
• Provide detailed fit check reports, drawing redlines, report review with technical sales personnel and/or engineers
• Learn and assist with packaging technical expertise
• Assess structural requirements, method of transport, long term storage and other specifications, as needed
• Occasionally update/create CAD drawings, assembly instructions and material lists as required
• Assist packaging engineers perform special engineering assignments
• Assist in understanding material specifications and possible replacement materials as needed

This position is located in (Newark, California) and you will report to our Engineering Manager.

Salary Range: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Your profile

• Ideally lCAD experience (IronCAD, Artios, SolidWorks, Solid Edge or NX/Unigraphics)
• Ideally a two year degree (AA/AS Degree) in a design or mechanical related field (Engineering, Packaging, etc.), or equivalent in education and experience, Bachelor’s Degree in process is acceptable but not required
• Mechanical aptitude, willingness to learn
• Ideally have working knowledge of packaging material, including steel, wood, corrugate, foam and/or other traded materials is considered an asset, but not required
• Proven ability to effectively present information and respond to questions in varied environments
• Ability to understand, share and explain complex concepts
• Ability to understand engineering drawings and specifications
• MS Office applications user level experience
• Fluent writing/speaking in English
