Job Title: Engineering Technician II - Product Engineering Support
Location: Moline, IL
Duration: 12 + Months Contract/Temp with the possibility of extension
Shift Details: 1st shift (Monday-Friday)
Pay Range: $28/hr - $30/hr W2
Note: Electrification lab for testing
Mechanical and electrical background- Mechanical would come first before electrical.
Hands on job. Test fixtures, electrical motors, AC compressors, pumps, etc.
Background in using hand tools
JOB PURPOSE: Work with design/test engineers on building test fixtures, debug circuitry, test setup, equipment maintenance and/or perform testing.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Set up Dynamometers for electric motor and/or inverter testing.
- Perform inspection and test as necessary to determine cause of defective electronic assemblies with instruction.
- Rework products per company and industry standards.
- Build test harnesses, loads and circuit boards to support product design as required.
- Document and maintain records relating to work performed.
- Inform supervisor of process or design problems and assist in the corrective action.
- Communicate with others in a professional and effective manner.
- Design and build engineering test fixtures.
- Perform other associated tasks as required from their supervisor and manager.
REQUIRED EDUCATION: A.S. in Electronics, a two-year technical diploma, equivalent military certification, or equivalent experience
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Minimum one year of related experience in electronics, manufacturing, or engineering is required; three or more years of related experience is preferred
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Working knowledge of personal computers, spreadsheets, and word processing
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and electronic components
- Possess a thorough understanding of diagnostic equipment and methods e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting to identify root cause
- Ability to read intermediate engineering documents, e.g., schematics or diagrams
- Maintain necessary product records and documentation
- Ability to comprehend and use product/process component datasheets
- Ability to assemble and disassemble products
- Ability to maintain lab equipment
- Ability to perform mechanical work
- Ability to train an Electronics Technician I
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Ability to solder
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and electronic components
- Experience in one or more of the following areas:
3D Printing, Electronics, Electrician/Electrical Contracting, High Voltage Electrical Safety, Electric motor repair, On-road/off-road Automotive Repair, Communication/Networking hardware, Computer repair, Robotics, Automation, Mechatronics, HVAC, Farming
