As an engineering manager at our group engineering department, you are responsible for the civil, infrastructure and mechanical projects within the group engineering department. You are responsible for monitoring the overview of our civil, infrastructure and mechanical projects at our different plants and green field developments throughout Europe. Together with your team you are responsible for the execution of the projects in this discipline like the PMD sorting line in Willebroek and the steam network Ecluse. You will coach and lead the team of specialised project engineers and project managers. You will be involved from the early development stages of projects until the handover.
What will be your biggest challenge?
To steer the team and the projects in the right direction, you have good knowledge of project methodology such as planning, cost estimation, budget, action follow-up, HSE, etc. You are good at negotiating contracts and have experience with contractor management. You are a socially adept and communicative team player who easily takes the initiative and knows how to resolve conflicts sustainably. Customer focus comes naturally to you. You enjoy managing and coaching the internal team to the next level. Working independently and making decisions within your domain therefore comes naturally to you.
How will you make a difference?
- You have an engineering degree
- You have at least 15 years of working experience as project leader of large projects within the field of civil or mechanical engineering.
- You possess excellent leadership and communication skills
- You have a proven ability in leading multidisciplinary activities (hierarchical leadership is not necessary)
- You have experience in contractor management
- You possess knowledge of management of change process
- You have the willingness to travel for short business trips
