Engineering Manager – Marine Module Transport Job Summary
We’re seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead technical operations for a high-profile marine logistics project involving the sealift of large industrial modules. This role will oversee all engineering-related activities from planning through execution, ensuring safe and efficient transport using marine vessels. You’ll collaborate closely with vessel crews, project teams, and external partners, while directing technical personnel and resources to support complex transport engineering challenges.This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a landmark initiative with a dedicated timeline and a dynamic, problem-solving environment.
Engineering Manager – Marine Module Transport Responsibilities
Serve as the primary technical liaison between project stakeholders and marine operators
Lead engineering input during planning and execution of module transport operations
Define and manage scope for engineering deliverables related to sealift activities
Review technical outputs for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with project objectives
Coordinate with Marine Warranty Surveyors and ensure compliance with industry standards
Direct internal and external engineering teams in feasibility studies and risk mitigation
Prioritize engineering tasks to support schedule-critical deliverables
Generate regular status reports and lead discussions in client-facing technical meetings
Engineering Manager – Marine Module Transport Position Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience
Minimum 8 years of relevant marine engineering or naval architecture experience
Background in marine transport, offshore logistics, or sealift operations
Familiarity with barge/tug vessel design (arrangement drawings, stability reports, etc.)
Working knowledge of industry standards such as DNV-ST-N001 or equivalent
Experience managing technical review processes and comment resolution
Understanding of engineering project scheduling and resource planning
Broad engineering foundation in naval architecture, marine or mechanical engineering
Awareness of ship/barge construction, repair practices, and applicable regulations (USCG, ABS)
Project management background strongly preferred
Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, Rhino3D, GHS, FEA tools, and Microsoft Office
Must be eligible to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential)
