We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join our team. The goal of the Engineering Manager, Ground Control Station at Wisk is to ensure that all aspects of the Flight Test Ground Control Station and Airborne Comms hardware and software are developed and maintained in support of the Wisk Gen 6 flight test campaign. You will be part of the Avionics team that is responsible for the overall development and integration of the avionics on the Gen 6 aircraft.

This is a hybrid work opportunity. At Wisk, this means working onsite at our Mountain View office 3 days per week with flexibility for the remainder of the days.

In this role you will have the opportunity to leave a lasting impact on aviation by designing and developing embedded software for an autonomous passenger carrying eVTOL service by building a high performing team to deliver all systems required to communicate with our aircraft, deliver C2-link airborne avionics software and ground infrastructure and be responsible for the collection and distribution of data between our aircraft and ground systems. You will also manage the team which develops and supports integration and test of the Flight Test Ground Control software required for the flight test campaign.

What You Will Do

  • You will lead a team in design and implementation of safety-critical and non-safety-critical systems which enable the ground crew to conduct flight tests of the Wisk Gen 6 aircraft
  • You will support Systems Engineering in defining and documenting the technical solution and integration efforts with other projects and external partners
  • You will help coordinate integration and testing efforts
  • You will drive Agile Development processes, cross-functional design reviews, and mentoring
  • You and your team will perform safety critical system design and integration activities based on today's best system and software engineering practices, lessons learned and guidelines.

Requirements

  • You have a BS in CS, AE, ME, EE, or equivalent, with 8 years of relevant experience
  • You have worked in aircraft, avionics, autonomous vehicles or remotely piloted aircraft field
  • You have familiarity and application experience with software development governed by processes for certified safety critical systems (DO-178B/C, ISO-26262, etc.)
  • You will have hands-on experience in development and decomposition of requirements, developing and allocating functions, and interfacing with certification and systems safety teams to deliver certification deliverables.
  • You have a strong and applied understanding of the agile development process
  • You have Familiarity with ARP4754A, DO-160, DO-178C, DO-254, ARP4761, Part 23/25, regulations, AC XX.1309, or similar standards
  • This role will require 25% of travel
  • You will be detail and technically oriented and have the ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast paced and challenging environment.

Pay Range the Company expects to pay: $214,027 - $251,796 per year - The starting base salary within this range for this role varies based on factors such as your geographical location, and your relevant job-related experience that is consistent with a business necessity.
