About Our Data And Modeling Team
Our Kiwi.com Data and Modeling team is the cornerstone of our data-centric decision-making culture. Operating at the intersection of technology and business, our team transforms raw information into actionable insights that power strategic decisions across our organization. We work closely with Product and Engineering, Business Analytics and Data Platform teams to maintain our critical data assets. We establish data as a strategic differentiator for Kiwi.com, while ensuring the highest data quality and governance standards.
What You Will Do
- You’ll empower our Data and Modeling team, taking responsibility for their performance and professional growth. You’ll support clear paths for learning and development and ensure your team operates at a high level of operational excellence and satisfaction.
- You will be responsible for creating and executing a comprehensive data strategy, proper data governance, accessibility and usability for all stakeholders, including Business Analysts, Senior Management, Product Managers, Engineers and AI tooling.
- You will guide the adoption of AI technologies across Kiwi.com, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, automation and data-centric business recommendations.
- You will review, re-establish, own and maintain our data products—a set of “golden” data models representing our Kiwi.com business in data form.
- By making accurate data accessible to everyone, you will empower our employees to leverage data-centric insights in their work. You’ll be instrumental in removing unnecessary gatekeeping and bottlenecks from the engineering and analytics departments and encourage collaboration.
- As a collaborative leader, you will engage with our cross-functional teams to understand and translate business requirements into technical solutions that deliver meaningful insights and build business value.
- You’ll be hands-on and technically involved, providing guidance on complex problems and remaining current with industry trends and technologies.
What You Will Need
- You are an experienced people leader with extensive experience in business intelligence and/or analytics roles.
- You have proven experience managing large teams (15+ people) in a data-focused setting and a track record of building and nurturing high-performing data teams.
- You bring a deep understanding of data architecture, data modeling and business intelligence platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Google BigQuery, Power BI, Tableau).
- You have a strong business acumen, a customer-centric mindset and the ability to build excellent technology and data architecture/products based on business and customer needs.
- You bring a strong understanding of data governance frameworks, data quality methodologies and master data management.
- Your approach is innovative, flexible and resilient - you thrive in fast-changing environments, especially when implementing and scaling AI/ML solutions in a collaborative cross-functional setting.
- You are an excellent communicator, fluent in English and adept at simplifying technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- You demonstrate expertise in SQL, data pipeline tools and at least one programming language (Python, R, etc.).
