As the Engineering Manager - Data Enablement, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers focused on building and scaling the EQ data platform. You will provide technical leadership to drive best practices in data engineering, data governance, and data product development, while also being a people leader-mentoring engineers, fostering career growth, and ensuring effective team collaboration.
Your team works closely with data analytics, data science, and software engineering teams to develop the tools, frameworks, and platforms that enable teams to build reliable, scalable, and well-governed data products. You will play a key role in helping us shape our data mesh strategy acting as a conduit between engineering and analytics.
Who you are:
* Strong experience in data engineering, particularly in building scalable data platforms using cloud-native technologies.
* Experience with modern data stack tools like dbt, Snowflake, Github and AWS.
* Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance standards.
* Familiarity with data contracts, data mesh principles, and domain-driven data modeling.
* Experience with CI/CD for data pipelines and best practices for observability and monitoring.
* Prior experience as an engineering manager or tech lead with a track record of growing high-performing teams.
* Strong cross-functional collaboration skills-ability to work with engineering, data science, analytics, and business teams.
* Experience in driving adoption of self-service platforms and improving the developer experience.
* Excellent stakeholder management and the ability to align technical execution with business priorities.
* Experience working in a data mesh or distributed data ownership model.
* Previous experience with data platform engineering in a lead generation, financial, or enterprise-scale environment.
* Experience working in an enablement team that provides tools and services to other teams.
What you'll do:
* Own and drive the data enablement strategy, ensuring teams can build and operate high-quality data products efficiently.
* Provide technical direction for data engineering best practices, including data modeling, data contracts, governance, security, and compliance.
* Ensure that the EQ data platform is scalable, cost-efficient, and user-friendly for engineering and analytics teams.
* Drive adoption of self-service tooling for data discovery, lineage tracking, and data quality monitoring.
* Partner with Platform Engineering to integrate cloud infrastructure, CI/CD practices, and observability into data workflows.
* Collaborate with DS and analytics teams to ensure a seamless pipeline from raw data to production-ready models and insights.
* Lead and grow a team of high-performing data engineers, fostering a strong culture of learning, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
* Provide mentorship and coaching to help engineers advance their careers and technical skills.
* Foster a strong DevOps and engineering culture, with a focus on automation, developer experience, and self-service capabilities.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional stakeholders, advocating for the right balance between innovation, delivery, and operational stability.
* Work closely with product management and leadership to define team roadmaps, priorities, and key outcomes, aligning them with business objectives.
