Position Description:
- Lead the preparation and review of energy calculations for complex energy systems in commercial and industrial facilities including HVAC, lighting, motors, process, refrigeration, air compressors and renewable energy systems.
- Provide detailed written analyses, including recommendations for energy efficiency, demand response, and self-generation measures, and deliver them to clients.
- Plan and organize energy audits for commercial and industrial facilities, overseeing the collection of data and analysis, and preparing client reports.
- Plan and execute data collection for M&V, perform spot power measurements, and set up monitoring equipment to evaluate energy system performance.
- Manage the engineering team, ensuring project deadlines and budgets are met while maintaining a high standard of quality.
- Mentor junior engineers, foster technical growth, and facilitate career development for engineering staff.
- Contribute to the development of internal standards and procedures, and test new models and tools for energy system analysis.
- Build strong relationships with clients to ensure successful project execution and alignment with their program goals.
Ideal Qualifications:
- Education: B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical or Energy Systems preferred).
- Experience: 8+ years of experience in energy engineering, with a strong background in energy efficiency, SEM, and retro commissioning.
- Travel: Must have reliable transportation for occasional site visits to client locations.
- Technical Expertise and Skills:
- Expertise in energy efficiency, retro commissioning, load shifting, and demand response strategies to optimize energy use.
- Skilled in statistics, linear regression modeling, and utilizing data analysis tools for performance evaluation.
- Experience working with HVAC, lighting, motors, and other commercial and industrial systems.
- Adept at applying thermodynamic principles like system efficiency and energy conservation to improve energy systems.
- Capable of interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings, equipment nameplate data, and manufacturer specifications.
- Well-versed in reading and interpreting safety rules, operating procedures, and maintenance manuals.
- Strong ability to write clear technical reports and professional correspondence.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information and interact professionally with clients.
