Summary

We are recruiting an experienced Engineering Manager (Tool & Mold) to join our clients’ team. Our client is the largest Tool & Mold manufacturer in North America. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will manage and lead the engineering team (designers) to achieve project timing, developing within budget, and quality standards. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage, coach, and provide positive feedback and areas for improvement to all direct reports in the engineering team
  • Manage and support members of the team, and ensures all work is completed accurately and meeting all standards including timing milestones, quality objectives and delivery metrics
  • Create and maintain a positive work environment which encourages open communication, and continuous improvement
  • Provide designers and surfacers sufficient and accurate information relating to the design of molds
  • Ensure tool is designed to best practices and customer standardsApprove purchase requisitions as required
  • Address all department quality issues or concerns for all assigned programs
  • Participate in the development and implementation of all engineering policies, procedures, standards, and practices
  • Accountable for reporting status and issues surrounding all tools within the team and attend review meetings as required
  • Address/communicate departmental status, issues, and/or concerns to senior management


REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Engineering Degree or Diplomas or Equivalent Experience as a Mold Maker, Designer, or Surfacer
  • 10+ years’ automotive tool design, mold making, or machining experience
  • Minimum of 5 years supervisory or management experience
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical, organizational, and planning skills are required
  • Proficient in time management, adhering to project budgets all with tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to create written reports and communicate with the engineering team to meet deliverables
  • Previous experience with Catia V5 preferred
  • Computer proficient in Microsoft Office such as Word and Excel
