Skillsearch are working with a huge AAA studio to find an Engineering Director specialising in network architecture and online systems for an unannounced project 👀

Key Responsibilities

• Design and maintain scalable, high-performance network systems for online gameplay.
• Optimize multiplayer experiences, addressing latency, bandwidth, and server efficiency.
• Lead and mentor a team of engineers in a collaborative, innovative environment.
• Collaborate with designers, programmers, and IT to integrate and support network features.
• Stay current with networking trends and implement new tools and technologies.
• Plan team strategy, manage timelines, and coordinate with external vendors and service providers.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in game development with a strong background in C++, Unreal Engine, and current-gen console experience.
• Proven leadership in senior network roles, including mentoring and team management.
• Skilled in designing scalable, high-performance systems with solid software architecture expertise.
• Creative problem-solver with a passion for innovation and technology.
• Strong communicator, able to bridge technical and non-technical teams.
• Agile development experience and a collaborative, adaptable mindset.
• Driven by a passion for games and delivering exceptional player experiences.
