Job description: Engineer- Vehicle Dynamics
Location: Yelahanka, Bangalore
You Will
We are seeking a
Vehicle Dynamics Engineer to work on the design, simulation, and testing of vehicle dynamics for
Electric Vehicles (EVs). This role involves optimizing ride comfort, handling, stability, and efficiency, with a focus on torque vectoring, regenerative braking, and active chassis control to enhance overall EV performance.
To Be Successful, You Will Be Expected To
- Develop and validate vehicle dynamics models for ride, handling, and stability analysis.
- Conduct multi-body simulations using tools like Adams, CarSim, MATLAB/Simulink, or IPG CarMaker.
- Tune suspension geometry, damping, and steering characteristics to optimize handling and comfort.
- Perform track and lab testing to collect and analyze vehicle dynamics data.
- Work on tire modeling and performance analysis to optimize grip and wear characteristics.
- Support the development of chassis control systems (ESC, ABS, traction control, active damping, torque vectoring, etc.).
- Collaborate with powertrain, aerodynamics, and control system teams to ensure dynamic performance targets are met.
- Assist in benchmarking competitor vehicles and proposing improvements.
- Prepare technical reports and present findings to stakeholders.
You must have any or a combination of any of the following skills:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical, Automotive, or a related engineering field.
- Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics principles, including suspension kinematics, load transfer, and ride quality.
- Proficiency in multi-body dynamics simulation tools such as Adams, CarSim, or Simpack.
- Experience with MATLAB/Simulink for modeling and simulation.
- Familiarity with data acquisition and analysis tools (CANalyzer, dSPACE, Vector tools, etc.).
- Ability to analyze and interpret real-world test data and correlate it with simulations.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Passion for automotive technology and a hands-on approach to engineering.
- Experience in vehicle testing, ride & handling tuning, and dynamic performance analysis.
- Hands-on experience in Formula SAE, Baja SAE, or motorsports projects.
- Knowledge of tire behavior, aerodynamics, and chassis control systems.
- Programming skills in Python, C++, or MATLAB scripting for data analysis and automation.
