The Division of Facilities Management functions to design, conduct, maintain, and operate the university's physical facilities. The department's number one objective is to provide and maintain facilities that will enhance and support the university's mission and academic goals. The approach is centered on providing a superior level of customer service.
The department is one of several units under the responsibility of the Vice Chancellor of Business and finance. The Associate Vice Chancellor manages the department and operates with the Director of Administration and Budget, the Director of Planning, Design, and Construction, the Director of Operations, and five supervisors.

Positions in this class typically plan, design, manage, and review construction, development, or manipulation of the physical environment for practical, esthetic, religious, or creative objectives, such as university facilities, office buildings, theaters, industrial facilities, landscaping, and/or other physical property. They assess programmatic needs, available funding, site constraints, and regulatory requirements and develop a design that addresses project requirements.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in the engineering discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. The position may require licensure by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
A valid driver's license. Must have and maintain an acceptable driving record, preferably five or more years of driving experience with no more than one minor at-fault accident or violation in the past three years.
