About The Team

Our Technology team is the backbone of the business, building and maintaining the information technology infrastructure that support Coles Group. As a part of the Technology team, you get the opportunity to work through complex, challenging, meaningful problems using large data sets and new technologies to expand your skills and experience.

About The Role

As an Engineer within our Integration Services team, you will build and maintain the integration platforms and engineered services following the current best practices in the industry.

Key responsibilities include

  • Development of Integration IaaS/PaaS/SaaS solutions within the Azure cloud for integration products and/or projects
  • Code review, testing, deployment and maintenance of the products in the Integration space.
  • Provide support to cross-functional teams using a hybrid on prem and Azure services and associated toolsets.
  • Assess a project situation and recommend the most suitable solution, approach, and tool.
  • Work under a product/platform/project delivery model as needed.
  • Ensure that the solutions delivered are fit-for-purpose and adhere to the solution design proposed and the underpinning principles of good software development.
  • Deliver project solutions requirements in defined timeline ensuring projects remain on track and in budget.

  • Ensure, where applicable that DevOps tools and techniques including Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD are leveraged to enable continuous testing.
  • Build an understanding of the product on a technical and functional level, understanding the context of our clients.
  • Keep up to date with industry trends in integration engineering, including cloud, latest architecture & designs for integration engineering platforms and artificial intelligence.
  • Continuously innovating and improving the stack to keep up with the practices and technology.

About You And Your Skills

  • Ability to expand existing and develop new technical skills as required to emerging needs.
  • Experience in Java, Python, Typescript and similar languages
  • Experience in building microservices in the cloud, preferably Azure
  • Experience working in the DevOps ways of working (JFrog Artifactory, X-Ray, Azure Resource Manager, Azure DevOps, GitHub)
  • Experience in containerisation of applications and IaC (Terraform, Bicep or equivalent)
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases
  • Scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, with a customer-centric mindset.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience in retail, supply chain, or large-scale enterprise environments is a bonus
