Community & Engagement Manager – Team Lead Are you a natural storyteller, a master of engagement, and a pro at bringing communities to life? If you’re as comfortable crafting compelling brand personalities as you are leading a team, then we’ve got the perfect role for you. What You’ll Do:


  • Lead & Inspire – Manage and mentor a team of engagement specialists and community managers, ensuring they’re motivated, aligned, and delivering top-notch community interactions.
  • Engage & Grow – Build authentic connections with our audiences across platforms, keeping conversations meaningful, fun, and on-brand.
  • Own the Moment – Plan and execute live event coverage with precision, creativity, and speed. From trending topics to real-time storytelling, you’ll make every moment count.
  • Write & Create – Manage Craft engaging copy, responses, and social posts across multiple platforms that capture attention and drive interaction.
  • Think & Solve – Bring creative solutions to the table, whether it’s rethinking engagement strategies, optimising workflows, or tackling unexpected challenges.
  • Plan & Execute – Oversee scheduling, create content calendars to assist creative teams, and team coordination to keep everything running smoothly. What You Bring:
  • Proven experience in community management, social engagement, or a related role.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and organise a team.
  • Excellent writing and communication abilities—witty, sharp, and always on-brand.
  • Experience with live event coverage and real-time social-first content creation including photography and video.
  • A strategic mindset with a knack for problem-solving and quick decision-making.
  • Strong project management skills and a love of organisation.
  • Familiarity with scheduling tools, analytics, and digital trends. Qualifications/Experience/Skill:
  • Proficient with Khoros and Sprout, Brandwatch and Hootsuite a plus.
  • Proficient in MS Office365 (i.e. Word/Excel/PowerPoint/MS Teams/OneDrive, etc.) and Google Office Suite
  • Minimum 5 years working experience as community & engagement manager in a creative agency or related company
  • Chronically online and in tune with social trends locally and globally
  • Good understanding of social media KPIs
  • A good command of the English language (both verbal and written)
  • Vernacular: ability to write in isiXhosa & isiZulu will be advantageous
  • Strong multitasking skills (ability to work on more than one brief at any given time)
  • Strong time management skills
