Summary

Your Role at St John of God Murdoch Hospital

You will be a suitably qualified and experienced Emergency Consultant, able to provide specialist emergency services to adult and paediatric patients.

We have full time/part time and casual roles available.

The Position

  • Provide clinical management of emergency department patients.
  • Maintain ethical and respectful behaviour to all staff and patients.
  • Is available to review any patient causing concern and or nursing staff unable to contact bed card doctor.
  • Is available to review patients in the Emergency Observation Unit who have been admitted under the Emergency Department Bed Card.
  • Is available when on call to attend the Emergency Department within 30 minutes of notification.
  • Actively seeks opportunities for further professional development. Maintains continuing Medical Education with the College of Emergency Medicine. Maintains certification in APLS, ALS or ELS, and EMST.
  • Participate fully in the doctors’ roster including after hours on call duties, as agreed with the Head of Department.
  • Participate as a valued team member promoting and contributing to a supportive team environment.

You will be a Fellow of the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (FACEM) or have equivalent professional membership and have demonstrated substantial clinical experience in the management of high acuity patients in a complex hospital environment.

You will demonstrate the ability to build a collaborative team in the delivery of high-quality specialist medical care, including driving clinical quality initiatives.
