In this position, you are contributing to the next generation of Process Automation devices. This work is a cornerstone of realizing the GF Piping Systems Process Automation Strategy 2025. As an Embedded Software Development Engineer with a focus on Fieldbus Technologies, you will play an important role in ensuring the projects are delivered on time, within budget, and of high quality. As the specialist in this topic, you will greatly impact the success of the GF Process Automation product portfolio.

Embedded Software Development Engineer with a focus on Fieldbus Technologies (m/f/d)

Your tasks:

• Develop embedded software for sensors and actuators for the Process Industry
• Integrate fieldbus protocols, for eg. Profinet, Ethernet/IP, and Modbus/TCP
• Conduct integration tests. Take care of the devices’ approval
• Collaborate with hardware engineers and software engineers in-house and abroad as well as with external service providers
• Ensure quality as well as efficient and timely delivery
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies
• Supporting lifecycle management of existing fieldbus-based products

Your profile:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree or equivalent in electrical engineering, computer science, or comparable
• A minimum of 5 years experience in developing embedded software in an industrial environment
• Experience with digital connectivity, eg. Profinet, EtherNet/IP, Modbus/TCP, IO-Link
• Experience in modern C++ (C++ 11 and higher), with ARM Cortex MCUs as well as embedded OS
• Experience in Scrum or similar agile methodologies
• Experience with cyber security, eg. IEC62443-4 is a plus
• English on a good level is a must
• A valid work permit for Switzerland or at least an EU citizenship
