Job Title Embedded Linux Engineer Job Description We are looking for an Embedded Linux Engineer who will be responsible for the embedded development of portable medical monitoring devices and associated equipment. Your role: * Design and develop software and firmware for mobile cardiac monitoring devices, embedded systems, and IoT platforms using C, C++, and Python. * Define software architecture and specifications; create detailed design documents aligned with product requirements. * Develop embedded Linux applications, network socket-based services, and device drivers; troubleshoot and maintain Linux-based systems. * Perform system-level debugging and board bring-up using test equipment like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and protocol analyzers. * Ensure security, reliability, and maintainability of embedded systems across the full development lifecycle. You're the right fit if: * Minimum of Bachelor's in Computer or Electrical Engineering (advanced degree preferred). * Minimum 5 years of firmware development experience in an FDA regulated environment. * Strong level programming skills in C, C++, and Python for real time environments. * Proven experience with embedded Linux development. * Experience reading and understanding circuit board schematics and electronic component datasheets. * You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position. Philips Transparency Details The pay range for this position in (San Diego, CA) is $110,800 to $177,400.00 The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity. In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered.
