Role Overview:

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the future of unmanned aerial systems through core hardware development. We are looking for a passionate Embedded Hardware Engineer to join our product development team. In this role, you will focus on the hardware side of embedded systems, including schematic design, PCB layout, hardware validation, testing, and integration for UAV platforms.

You will be working on high-performance drone systems and collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring robust and scalable hardware solutions from concept to field deployment.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Design and development of high-speed, multi-layer PCBs using tools such as Altium Designer/Eagle/KiCAD
  • Schematic capture, component selection, and layout for drone flight controllers, ESCs, and peripheral boards
  • Perform bring-up, validation, and debugging of new hardware using lab instruments like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, etc.
  • Work closely with firmware/software teams for board bring-up and integration
  • Conduct hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing for embedded systems
  • Develop test plans, procedures, and documentation for new and existing designs
  • Analyze and troubleshoot issues related to signal integrity, power delivery, thermal performance, and EMI/EMC
  • Ensure DFM/DFT (Design for Manufacturing/Test) practices are followed
  • Interface with manufacturing partners and oversee PCB fabrication, assembly, and testing
  • Support integration of sensors, communication modules, and power systems into UAV platforms
  • Participate in system architecture design and component-level reviews
  • Maintain accurate documentation for hardware design and revisions
  • Provide technical support during flight testing and operational deployment

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics/Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field
  • 0–2 years experience in embedded hardware design and development
  • Strong understanding of PCB design principles, signal integrity, and power distribution
  • Experience in schematic capture and layout (Altium Designer preferred)
  • Familiarity with embedded microcontrollers (STM32, ESP32, etc.) and interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, USB, etc.)
  • Ability to interpret datasheets, reference designs, and technical specifications
  • Experience with design validation and troubleshooting of electronic circuits
  • Familiarity with drone system electronics including flight controllers, GPS modules, IMUs, ESCs, and power distribution boards
  • Knowledge of EMI/EMC compliance and testing procedures is a plus
  • Basic understanding of firmware concepts and ability to collaborate with software teams
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Self-motivated with a strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
  • Passion for aerospace, UAV technology, and working in a dynamic startup environment
