The role

Silicon Labs is looking for a junior application engineer to join the application engineering team. The application engineer team is the bridge between the customers and the R&D team, delivering user guides, and peripheral and application example codes and actively helping customers with their whole product development, starting with planning, through design and development, and at the end with certification processes.

What You Will Do

In this role you will be working with our cutting-edge 32-bit Wireless MCU products and different embedded and real-time operating systems like FreeRTOS, Micrium (uC-OS), Mbed and Zephyr.

You will have a direct impact on the success of our 32-bit Wireless MCU platform with helping our customers as they design and build connected systems.

Here is what your daily role will look like:

  • Actively help customers on their design, development activities
  • Create code examples, application notes, quick start guides for wireless applications
  • Collaborate with IC design, software engineering and marketing teams on product evaluations and new product definition


Mastery needed for success in this role:

  • BSc or MSc degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering/Computer Science
  • Strong C programming skills on embedded systems
  • Experience with embedded or real-time operating systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English


We consider the following experience as a plus:

  • Experience with FreeRTOS, Micrium (uC-OS), Mbed or Zephyr
  • Experience with wireless communication protocols (Wifi, Bluetooth LE/Mesh, Zigbee, IEEE 802.15.4)
