Job Expectations:
As an Elevator Installation and Service Technician, you will assist in the installation, maintenance, and service of residential and commercial elevators, dumbwaiters, stair chairs, and wheelchair lifts. Key responsibilities include:
Work Environment & Travel:
Travel required, including out-of-town assignments (home on weekends).
Company reimburses lodging and meals for out-of-town work.
Must be comfortable working in various environments (construction sites, commercial buildings, outdoor settings year-round).
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift heavy equipment and materials (typically up to 50–100 lbs).
Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and on ladders.
Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
Safety & Compliance:
Must pass a background check.
Strong focus on workplace safety and ability to follow OSHA regulations.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and emergency call-outs.
Experience & Training:
Electrical, mechanical, and/or construction experience is a plus but not required.
On-the-job training provided.
Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Education & Certification:
High school diploma or GED required.
Completion of an apprenticeship program or relevant vocational training preferred.
Required Skills:
Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
Basic working knowledge of power tools and hand tools (e.g., drills, wrenches, levels, multimeters).
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Awareness of workplace hazards and ability to obtain OSHA certification.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals (preferred).
Effective communication skills for interacting with team members, homeowners, property managers, and the general public.
Prior experience in elevator installation, repair, or maintenance is a plus.
