Site Coordinator in a Before and After School Program
REPORTS TO: Area Manager
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt, Full-Time
SUPERVISORY POSITION: Yes

PAY RATES: Qualifying start at $24.00/hour
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday approx. 40 hours per week. No Nights or Weekends!

Position Summary
The Site Coordinator serves as the point of contact, for parents, school staff, and the Carlsbad Educational
Foundation (CEF) office, to address and resolve routine administrative and safety matters. All position
responsibilities must be performed in accordance with city, state, federal and Company policy.

Site Coordinator Position Duties And Responsibilities
Make certain that all student safety systems are in place. Student safety is our top priority!
Ensure day-to-day operations are running smoothly from an administrative and safety perspective.
Answer questions and resolve routine administrative and safety matters for parents, school staff and the
CEF office.
Lead student check-in and perform regular headcounts.
Run on-site safety trainings and staff meetings.
Ensure program compliance with federal, state, and local laws, as required by Community Care Licensing.
Safeguard the confidentiality and privacy of all records, maintenance of a secure and safe environment for
children and employees as required by law and CEF policies and procedures.
Facilitate STEAM lessons/activities, community service/leadership projects, and assist students with
homework to include:
→ Math and science: astronomy, physics, nutrition and gardening
→ Technology, computers, and engineering
→ Art: collage, painting, sculpture, and more.
Model and lead creative expression, teamwork, and sportsmanship through artistic and physical activities
such as:
→ Crafts: crochet, mobiles, masks, puppets, sewing, card making and beading
→ Music: dance, singing, free expression
→ Outdoor/indoor activities such as sports, organized team games, and board games
Educate students to develop and keep good study habits, respectful behavior and service-mindedness
through activities such as → Homework Club
→ Service projects (i.e., canned food drives and senior center projects)
→ Good neighbor conflict resolution
Contribute to performance evaluations and disciplinary action as needed.
Assist in the ordering of supplies and snacks, and manage the associated documentation.
Co-create an awesome and safe environment for the students!
Other work duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Required Education, Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

15 semester units in Early Childhood Education (ECE) - Note: ECE units may be substituted by units from a
related field
→ 3 of the semester units must be in Administration or Staff Relations.
→ 15 hours of training on preventative health practices (may be completed upon hire).
→ Childcare center operations and record keeping orientation (may be completed upon hire).
→ Minimum of 4 years teaching experience in a supervised group Child Care Center required,
Supervisor Experience Preferred.
Alternative Qualifications for Units in ECE
→ AA degree in Child Development, 3 units Administration and 2 years teaching experience.
→ BA degree in Child Development, 3 units Administration & 1 year teaching experience.
→ Child Development Site Supervisor Permit or Program Director Permit.
→ Other certain alternative coursework and or experience may be substituted.
Any equivalent combination of experience and education that will allow the applicant to satisfactorily
perform the duties of the job may be considered when filling the position.
1-2 years previous supervisory experience a plus.
California Department of Justice fingerprint and background clearance required.
CPR Certification highly desired.

- Physical demands are present during the full work shift, with the exception of duty-free meal periods and

Visual and auditory acuity adequate to frequently monitor guest activity, use a computer and
electronic equipment, assess work tasks to be completed, and read work-related documents;
Standing, walking, kneeling, bending, and stooping;
Intermittent overhead and low reaching, grasping objects; and
Lifting and carrying 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly.
