ABOUR YOUR ROLE
Avery Dennison is seeking an EDI Analyst with Babelway knowledge in Order to Cash and Procure to Pay process areas to join our Information Technology team. This position will need to work with stakeholders in the European time zones, but can be located remotely.
You would be a member of a Global IT Organization and a key enabler for our Customer Service, Sales and Procurement teams to meet their automation objectives, supporting the onboarding of new EDI integrations, working to support established connections and helping phase out usage of legacy technology. We need you to understand the business strategy toward EDI and play a key role in implementing this strategy. Some essential qualities that we'd like you to bring to the table include a customer focused and business oriented approach, experience in configuration skills on the Babelway platform and previous project experience, as well as working with varied groups of stakeholders, both internal and third party as well as interacting with teams based across multiple geographies.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE
Collaboration and Technical Expertise:
- Work closely with fellow team members to develop, implement, and maintain the protocols and methodologies used in EDI integration with our trading partners.
- Leverage technical expertise to troubleshoot and resolve issues, ensuring optimal system performance and availability.
Problem Solving and Decision Making:
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills to identify and address technical challenges effectively.
- Make independent decisions that may impact project timelines, resource allocation, and overall IT operations.
Communication and Teamwork:
- Communicate technical information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate effectively within a team environment, sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues.
Programming and Technical Skills:
- Modify and enhance existing trading partner set-ups and communications translations to meet evolving business needs.
- Investigate data related failures
Documentation and Reporting:
- Document work processes, procedures, and solutions for future reference and knowledge sharing.
- Prepare and present technical findings and reports to the team and management, highlighting key insights and recommendations.
WHAT WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR IN YOU
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in IT development, support, systems administration, or a similar role.
Experience:
- Demonstrate working knowledge/experience in integrating organizations with their trading partners using Babelway is a must.
- Working across a variety of trading partner types with a range of digital maturity and connection formats.
- Familiarity with multiple formats (e.g. X12, JSON, XML, CSV, flat file, papinet, edifact)
- Knowledge of multiple communication types (e.g. AS2 VAN APIs SFTP)
- Knowledge of Regex and XPath is a must.
- Awareness of other EDI structures and protocols a bonus
- Coding background not necessarily required
- Skilled in solving problems and managing application performance.
- Experience in effectively communicating with a broad base of users (internal and external) and multiple management layers
- Understanding of manufacturing industries and business processes.
- Skilled in anticipating user requirements and in identifying and resolving complex problems with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication, training, customer service and organizational skills.
- Project experience preferred

- This position will need to work with stakeholders in the European time zones, therefore, we provide flexibility of hybrid working mote.
