This position is contingent upon contract award and funding approval of winning a program.
We are seeking enthusiastic and capable Mechanical Engineers of all experience levels. Whether you are a recent graduate or a subject matter expert we want to hear from you. This position reports to the Electronic Systems and Power Division and is responsible for owning the electrical and avionics system design for advanced miliary air vehicles. In this role, you will be responsible for the integrated design across vehicle subsystems including selecting the best design solutions for system layouts, packaging, harnessing and component selection. You will also represent the electrical and avionics systems in all cross-functional trades and impact studies for the given programs you are supporting. This is a high visibility, high criticality role where you will get to make your mark from concept development to product validation and delivery.
* An Electro-Mechanical Engineer can show ownership across all phases of development from proposal through successful design, qualification, integration, flight testing, and production. Responsibilities may include:
* Participate in the design, fabrication, integration, and test of electrical avionics systems. Design and procure digital and analog hardware for unmanned aerial vehicle avionics. Conduct testing of avionics components.
* Design electrical and avionics hardware including avionics mounting shelves and brackets, antenna and lighting installations, creating electronics enclosures/packaging, and wire harness design and routing.
* Analyze the avionics hardware installations with respect to stress, fatigue, thermal, vibration, and electrical bonding concerns.
* Manage the flow of electrical and avionics systems components through the design phases, the design reviews, the fabrication phase, the component-level testing, and integration onto the vehicle.
* Supplier coordination
* Generation of high-quality engineering documentation and designs
* Component and aircraft level development and certification to military and commercial standards (MIL-STD-516, MIL-STD-810, DO-160, ARP4754, AS50881, etc.)
* Support of aircraft ground and flight test campaigns
Minimum Requirements
* Must be a US Person
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) field and 2 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (Example- Master)
* Experience with 3D design and CAD tools (Software knowledge of: Catia V5, Catia V5 Electrical Workbench, Solidworks, MS Office, Project and MS Visio)
* Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio)
* Demonstrated engineering intuition, critical thinking, and comfort with ambiguity
* Relevant education and/or experience in one or more of the disciplines listed below:
* Aviation and/or Unmanned Systems
* Electrical Installations
* Avionics Installations
* Antenna Installations
* Military Vehicle Electronics or Equivalent Industrial Applications
* Wire Routing, Wire Harness Design, and Electrical Part Design

Preferred Requirements
* Experience with UAVs
* Works collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams to define cross-functional interfaces
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to analyze and resolve hardware/software integration issues
* Ability to use lab equipment, such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, and spectrum analyzers
* Experience with Model Based System Engineering and requirements management (Cameo Systems Modeler, DOORS, etc.)
* Familiarity with military and commercial industry standards such as DO-178, DO-254, DO-160, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, ARP4754, ARP4761, AS50881, etc.

Salary Range (Annualized USD)
* Minimum Range: $73,000.00 to $129,000.00
* Maximum Range: $87,000.00 to $154,000.00
