Job Description:

My client is seeking a skilled and motivated Power Electronics Testing Engineer for an 8-month contract role. The successful candidate will be responsible for testing and validating high voltage (HV) power electronics products, ensuring their reliability and performance in various applications.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Testing and Validation:
  • Conduct comprehensive testing of high voltage power electronics products, including SiC, GaN, and MOSFET-based systems.
  • Perform functional, performance, and reliability testing on HV products to ensure they meet design specifications and industry standards.
  • Utilize hardware controls and simulation tools to optimize testing procedures and validate product performance.


Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Analyze test data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.
  • Document test results and provide detailed reports to the engineering team, highlighting key findings and recommendations.


Troubleshooting and Debugging:

  • Identify and troubleshoot issues in HV power electronics systems during testing.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to resolve technical problems and implement corrective actions.


Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure all testing procedures comply with safety standards and protocols for high voltage systems.
  • Maintain a safe and organized testing environment, adhering to company and industry safety regulations.


Test Equipment Tooling:

  • Operate and maintain advanced test equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, power analyzers, and other specialized tools.
  • Develop and implement test setups and fixtures to facilitate accurate and efficient testing.


Collaboration:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, development, and quality assurance, to support product development and improvement.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide technical input on testing and validation processes.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in testing high voltage power electronics products, including SiC, GaN, and MOSFET technologies.
  • Strong understanding of power electronics systems, including AC/DC and DC/DC conversion principles.
  • Proficiency in using testing equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power analyzers, and simulation tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and protocols for high voltage systems.
