Position Summary:

We are seeking a Designer to join our Electrical Controls and Instrumentation team. Each system is custom engineered to meet rigorous customers, industry and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Create layout drawings for junction boxes and control panels
  • Create wiring schematics for junction boxes and control panels
  • Generate other controls documents such as system architecture, loop digrams and instrument hookup diagrams,
  • Perform engineering changes (ECs)
  • Select parts such as terminal blocks, enclosures, operators, lights, receptacles, etc. based upon industry standards and customer requirements
  • Interface with vendors and electricians and provide guidance and direction as necessary
  • Inspect equipment and document as-built conditions
  • Hands on panel work is a plus


Technical/Functional Skills:


  • Proficient in AutoCAD / AutoCAD Electrical, 2010 or higher
  • Ability to size and layout junction boxes and control cabinets
  • Ability to understand and generate wiring schematics
  • Familiar with major control panel components such as relays, fuses, PLCs, HMIs, power supplies, coolers, heaters, etc.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects concurrently
  • Detail oriented designer with focus on quality and accuracy
  • Independently apply concepts across the whole design package
  • Ability to research and locate manufacturer's part numbers and add them to our system


Qualifications Experience:


  • Bachelor or master’s degree in Instrumentation/Electrical engineering or equivalent.
  • 5 - 9 years or more of related work experience.
