Position Summary:
We are seeking a Designer to join our Electrical Controls and Instrumentation team. Each system is custom engineered to meet rigorous customers, industry and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create layout drawings for junction boxes and control panels
- Create wiring schematics for junction boxes and control panels
- Generate other controls documents such as system architecture, loop digrams and instrument hookup diagrams,
- Perform engineering changes (ECs)
- Select parts such as terminal blocks, enclosures, operators, lights, receptacles, etc. based upon industry standards and customer requirements
- Interface with vendors and electricians and provide guidance and direction as necessary
- Inspect equipment and document as-built conditions
- Hands on panel work is a plus
Technical/Functional Skills:
- Proficient in AutoCAD / AutoCAD Electrical, 2010 or higher
- Ability to size and layout junction boxes and control cabinets
- Ability to understand and generate wiring schematics
- Familiar with major control panel components such as relays, fuses, PLCs, HMIs, power supplies, coolers, heaters, etc.
- Capable of managing multiple projects concurrently
- Detail oriented designer with focus on quality and accuracy
- Independently apply concepts across the whole design package
- Ability to research and locate manufacturer's part numbers and add them to our system
Qualifications Experience:
- Bachelor or master’s degree in Instrumentation/Electrical engineering or equivalent.
- 5 - 9 years or more of related work experience.
