Role Responsibilities

• In this position you will join the Land Infrastructure team in Cape Town where you will play an integral role in our team providing quality design deliverables and solutions whilst continuously developing our electrical infrastructure design capability and digital eminence.
• With a focus on infrastructure projects in the Middle Eastern region, we are actively recruiting for those passionate about working collaboratively and building on technical knowledge.
• Demonstrate a genuine interest in making a difference in our business, to the wider community and providing a winning service to our clients.
• Engage your skills in a digital environment containing diverse analysis and modelling software including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Navisworks and BIM360, Dialux, Etap.
• Continuously strive to improve your technical ability as well as modelling capability and efficiency.
• Design and modelling of telecom (Fibre), power transmission, electrical for ITS, traffic signals and street lighting.
• Work in an engaging, flexible, and collaborative way and multi-disciplinary teams in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
• Strong infrastructure engineering background with previous experience in infrastructure projects
• Prepare Concept Design stage to Detailed Design in relation to dry utilities, requirements related to cross sections, and coordination with other disciplines such as wet, roads, landscape, etc. along with preparation of reports and sketches as required.
• Prepare the LV/MV/HV design including distribution substation locations, feeder pillar locations etc. voltage drop calculations, single line diagrams, etc.
• Prepare/Review Clarifications to Contractor RFIs, Review/approve any key technical submittals related to electrical works and dry utilities (if required).
• Ensure all the works are in adherence to the quality standards set by the organization.
• Experience in Electrical design relating to building services and using software such as Revit for MEP coordination and design will be beneficial.
  
  
  

Minimum Requirements

• BEng / BSc (Hon) / B Tech in Electrical Engineering. A postgraduate qualification in a relevant engineering discipline would be advantageous.
• A minimum of 8 years’ of 3 years post-graduate experience in LV/MV electrical infrastructure design
• Candidate member of an associated Professional body
• Experience and proven ability to assist in delivering projects and coordinate with multiple disciplines.
• Experience of MS Office Suite of Programmes, SharePoint, ProjectWise, etc.
• Experience in technical design and associated discipline software.
