The EMG HW Platforms Team at Meta Reality Labs is seeking an Electrical Engineering Manager with a background and hands-on experience in electrical engineering and complex system design. Your job will be to lead and support a team of engineers incubating research into product-level readiness and helping to ensure robust product integration. You will be responsible for the intake of requirements from researchers, engineers, and product managers; managing program schedules, identify risks and associated mitigation plans; and clearly communicating to program stakeholders. Communication and technical aptitude are critical in this role as you will be the liaison between researchers, mechanical, electrical, and software engineers and you will assist with determining project priorities and feasibility. As an expert in your engineering field, you will be in charge of supervising the EE design and architecture of our custom systems. This is a complex and operationally challenging role that will afford the opportunity to lead the development of technologies that have the potential to change the way humans communicate and interact regardless of distance.BS or higher education in Electrical or Computer Systems Engineering or equivalent. 8+ years of experience with system-level design including circuit design, system bring-up, integration, debug, and embedded firmware coordination. 2+ years experience managing a team of Electrical Engineers. Experience leading development from schematic and PCB layout to assembly. Experience with SoC, RF (WiFi/BT), Batteries, Audio, Sensors Integration, Display, Custom ASIC/Silicon, Haptics, Camera Sensors, and high speed I/O. Experience with digital circuit design and various communications protocols such as I2C, UART, SPI, USB, MIPI, I2S, etc. Experience in working with external manufacturing and design partners (CM, ODM). Familiarity with ECAD tools like OrCAD, Allegro, Mentor Graphics, and/or Altium. Direct experience in tech transfer or shipping high volume consumer hardware. Capacity to travel both domestically and internationally. Experience in bio-sensing or equivalent analog electrical systems. Experience in technology incubation or in prototyping. Experience in clinical settings. Experience with metrology equipment design. Experience with wearable devices and embedded computing. Direct experience shipping consumer hardware and in R&D. Experience programming in languages like Python or C/C++ Experience with health devices, wearables, or devices with high levels of miniaturization.
