Job Description:

The Engineering Expertise Secondary Systems department is responsible for drawing up the standards that will be applied in Elia's infrastructure projects. These are standards about the electrical equipment for the protection system, control system, automation and measurements of the high-voltage installations of the electricity grid.

The Designer Specialist Expertise Secondary Systems is responsible for:

• Checking the standard plans/designs ("typicals") of the suppliers.
• If necessary, participation in the acceptance tests of the electrical equipment in the factory.
• Drawing symbols in AutoCAD based on the plans/designs of the suppliers.
• Drawing up and/or checking standard plans (security block diagrams and detailed principle diagrams) on the basis of concept notes, standards, approved equipment, methodologies and guidelines for application in investment projects in the client group.
• Managing its own planning according to the priorities and deliverables.
• Be responsible for adapting and keeping up-to-date all standards/tools that use macros/VBA in Excel (entire domain of secondary systems).

Additional requirements:

•Professional bachelor Energy Technology, Electromechanics, Electronics or equivalent through experience (an engineering degree is overqualified for this service

Essential knowledge

• A good basic knowledge of electricity
• Being able to read/understand/analyze electrical diagrams
• A good knowledge of Autocad.
• A knowledge of Windows Office applications.
• Command of Dutch and/or French perfect, a good knowledge of English – given the many contacts with the international suppliers.
• Willing to learn a trade that requires a high and specific level of expertise in the long term.
• Smooth assertive communicator who is customer-oriented, values team spirit and is resourceful.
• Flexible and assertive.
• Working independently, in an organized manner and with the necessary proactivity, taking responsibility for the result to be achieved.
