Your contribution!

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will be responsible for reviewing and overseeing electrical designs, construction, and compliance for renewable energy projects (Wind, Solar, Hydro). You will manage field implementation, ensure regulatory and safety standards, support bidding and contracts, provide engineering and commissioning support, and collaborate across disciplines to optimize project development, execution and operations.

Your day-to-day!

  • Provide review of electrical designs for Wind, Solar, Hydro and other technologies supervise/manage field implementation;
  • Oversee interconnection construction, implementation of network and interconnection facility upgrades, and evaluate interconnection agreement compliance;
  • Provide reviews of draft specifications and documentation for EPC contracts and/or engineering consultants. Review electrical designs and studies;
  • Support bidding processes, RFP development, proposal analysis and recommendation; technical input into major contracts including equipment supply agreements, power purchase agreements and balance of plant agreements;
  • Review and approve drawings submitted to ensure all engineering standards, construction standards and safety codes are met;
  • Respond to requests for information (RFIs), review and approve submittals;
  • Provide construction site engineering and commissioning support including inspection and monitoring of electrical installation;
  • Develop operating procedures, joint operating orders and word instruction required to comply wit regulatory bodies;
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the reliability compliance team interpreting standards and supporting external audits;
  • Oversee and evaluate testing and electrical compliance studies during commissioning and operations;
  • Provide engineering operational and project management support to operating facilities. Support troubleshooting, equipment performance analysis, warranty claim investigation and root cause analysis;
  • Interface with other technical disciplines, project management, construction, accounting and finance teams as necessary through all phases of assigned projects.


Your skills, our requirements!

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering;
  • P.E./P.Eng. is a plus;
  • Minimum of 7 years years of relevant experience in a similar position;
  • Renewable energy or heavy industrial experience is preferred;
  • Knowledge of high voltage electrical designs for industrial applications, ideally including experience with wind or solar projects;
  • Bilingualism (French and English, written and spoken) is required to ensure collaboration with different stakeholders outside of Québec on a regular basis.

Pay Transparency Statement

Compensation for roles at Innergex varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, education, and level of experience. We believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer.

In the spirit of pay transparency we are excited to share the base salary for the position is $95 000 - $120 000, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. If you are hired by Innergex, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth. We also offer a generous compensation and benefits package.
