The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the electrical design of custom automation solutions for assembly and testing of complex products.
Requirements
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Design electrical systems in accordance with local and international standards, industry best practices, customer requirements, and Mikron standards.
Electrical hardware selection and sizing.
Generate, review, and maintain electrical schematics and electrical Bills of Materials (BOMs) for automated assembly systems.
Coordinate and assist in certifications and inspections of electrical systems (UL, CE, CSA, etc.)
Materials release and tracking throughout the project lifecycle.
Prepare electrical assembly packages for Electrical Technicians (ET).
Support Electrical Technicians (ET) with wiring, troubleshooting and electrical checks.
Responsible for on-time completion of electrical design milestones to project schedule.
Establish and maintain standards, best practices, and work instructions. Coordinate with other Mikron locations to ensure consistent quality.
Any other duties that have been described in detail as assigned by management or supervision within Mikron Corporation Denver.
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) from an accredited college or university.
3-5 years of applicable experience in an industrial setting.
Advanced experience with AutoCAD Electrical and/or Eplan.
Advanced knowledge of electrical hardware such as circuit breakers, VFDs, IO cards, transformers, etc. Ability to select and size properly electrical components.
Advanced safety experience (Initial design and upgrades).
Advanced knowledge of NEC, NFPA 79, UL508A, CE and CSA. Ability to design/review equipment to meet those requirements.
Knowledge of EIC / NEMA standards
Proficient at reading and interpreting single line & standard wiring diagrams, panel layouts and data sheets.
Advanced Understanding component layouts, voltage separation, mounting for best wiring practices, spacing requirements.
Understanding of electrical checks (Protective Bonding, Loop Impedance, ...)
