Vista Manufacturing, a supplier of custom LED lighting solutions for Appliance, Architectural, Marine and RV markets is seeking a dynamic Electrical Engineer. The ideal candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to lead other engineering staff on assigned projects through the Vista project development process to project launch.

Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Reports To: Director of Engineering

Key relationships: Engineering team, Product management, Manufacturing, Sales, Purchasing, China team

Role Purpose:

The Electrical Engineer’s role is to design, develop, implement, improve, and maintain products to meet customer and Vista requirements and specifications. They are responsible for completing projects and/or tasks from conceptualization, iteration, and prototype to final product design with full product and procedural documentation. These activities are accomplished with full cooperation and input from Product Management to achieve customer acceptable products, services, and support, as well as improved, innovative, and superior versions of those products, services, and support.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or similar required
• Basic knowledge of statistics and their application to product design and control
• Ability to write clearly about highly technical subject matter
• Proficient in circuit design, calculation, analysis, and simulation
• Experience with industry-standard design software and tools
• Proficient in PCBA layout
• Thorough understanding of UL standards and certification processes related to electrical products.
• Working understanding of ERP systems
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop electrical circuits and systems for lighting products.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers and product managers, to integrate electrical designs with overall product specifications.
• Conduct simulations and analyses to validate design performance and reliability.
• Prepare detailed engineering documentation, including schematics, specifications, and test plans.
• Provide technical support during the manufacturing process and assist in resolving production issues.
• Oversee prototype and finished good testing and troubleshooting to ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Validate proper function, projected life, and quality of products through effective testing methods
• Create accurate schematics, PCBA layouts, and detailed drawings of designs for communication to customers, manufacturing, and suppliers
• Coordinate with project team to ensure on-time project completion
• Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and regulations to inform design decisions.
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards in all designs.
