Summary

The Electrical Commissioning Engineer is responsible for managing the commissioning electrical systems at Fremont Factory, ensuring all activities adhere to NFPA 70E, NEC, NETA/NICET testing standards, and Tesla's electrical codes and specifications. This role also ensures that electrical systems are completed in accordance with project scope, safety protocols, and deadlines. * Develop and validate detailed commissioning plans and procedures, ensuring compliance with NFPA 70E, NEC, NETA/NICET testing standards, and Tesla's electrical codes and specifications * Oversee construction activities to ensure electrical systems are prepared for commissioning tasks * Lead the equipment handover process, resolving any action items to ensure smooth asset transfer to Tesla Facilities * Collaborate with the Tesla Quality Assurance team to verify the quality of electrical contractor installations * Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent in ensuring a seamless transition to Manufacturing, Operations, and Facilities * Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience * 5+ years of experience with a strong background in relay testing and troubleshooting * Strong proficiency in NFPA 70E electrical codes and standards, as well as NEC and NETA/NICET testing standards * Extensive field experience with switchgear, panel boards, and other industrial electrical installations * Well-versed in developing electrical commissioning procedures and troubleshooting 480V and 4160V systems * Strong understanding of electrical commissioning and completion programs such as CxAlloy, WinPCS, or other web-based platforms * Electrical Design Engineering experience is a plus, but not required
