Job Title: Electric Utility Engineer Location: Pomona, CA Duration: 12-month Contract Work Type: Hybrid (Onsite on Wednesday and Thursday) Pay Range: $16 - $48.91/Hr
Job Description:
The engineer in this position will develop new design and construction standards and update existing ones for distribution, transmission, and substation systems.
The tasks involved during this process are aligning standards content with the client's strategic direction, resolving stakeholder issues for efficient standards deployment, communicating new and updated standards to impacted organizations, addressing questions from impacted organizations regarding the application of existing standards, and generally providing support whenever standards are involved (legal inquires, compliance, etc.)
The standards engineering team inherently supports strategic objectives in two main functions.
Maintaining the standards so the client can efficiently design, construct, inspect, maintain, and operate the client's existing infrastructure. Work in this area is typically driven by issues identified in day-to-day operations, i.e., planning inefficiencies, construction feedback, inspection results, etc.
Incorporating new standard material that supports all of the client's strategic roadmaps, including but not limited to public/worker safety, reliability, pathway 2045, and climate risk. The standard engineers work with various stakeholders (engineering, strategy, construction, supply chain, training, etc.) to develop robust and effective standards.
Required Skills/Attributes:
5 years of engineering experience and an engineering degree.
Desired Skills/Attributes:
Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering Background.
Electric Utility experience.
Good communication skills.
