Job Description

The EHS Project Administrator is a temporary position with a start date of June 2, 2025 ending on August 23, 2025. This position will report to the Director of Environmental Health and Safety.

Responsibilities

• Maintain chemical inventory for Facility Operations.
• Ensure presence of current Safety Data Sheets in the inventory software for all chemicals.
• Map life safety equipment in buildings for inclusion in egress maps and future GIS-like maps.
• Assist with implementation of new EHS software suite.
• Upload building floor plans, safety data sheets.
• Draft procedures and processes.
• Test procedures in the field and perform equipment inspections.
• Place barcode/QRcode labels on safety equipment and scan them into tracking software.
• Check and label battery recycling and used light bulb containers across campus for compliance with EPA regulations.
  
  

Required Background, Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Basic understanding of chemical hazards equivalent to knowledge acquired with a degree in Chemistry or Biology
• An understanding of the chemical safety regulations equivalent to the experience working in teaching and research laboratories.
• Experience working with computer software such as inventory control, the Microsoft or Google Office suite, and databases
• Strong interpersonal communication skills
• Investigative/problem solving skills for inspecting areas and identifying chemical (or chemical product) containers.
• Physical ability to access all parts of a building, unlock doors, and evaluate materials in storage.
  
  

Hourly rate: $24.00-$31.00
