Environmental Health & Safety Program & Process Development
Project Overview
This 12-month internship offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with strong project and time management skills as well as a passion for environmental, health and safety to assist in developing, enhancing and simplifying the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) program processes for the world leader in manufacturing military aircraft transparencies and commercial aircraft passenger windows. This project aims to align the company's EHS practices with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards, ensuring compliance and promoting a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.

Main Project Deliverables
1. Gap Analysis Report: Identify current EHS practices and compare them with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements.
2. Process Improvement Plan: Develop a detailed plan to address gaps and improve EHS processes.
3. Training Materials: Create training modules for employees on updated EHS procedures.
4. Implementation Strategy: Outline steps for integrating new processes into daily operations.
5. Compliance Documentation: Prepare necessary documentation to demonstrate adherence to ISO standards.
Learning Outcomes
* Understanding of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards and their application in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
* Experience in conducting gap analyses and developing process improvement plans.

Required Qualifications
* Currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or arelated field.
* Currently holds 3.0 GPA or higher.
* Available to work 30+ hours per week.
* Foundational understanding of OSHA, EPA regulations, and sustainability principles.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), strong analytical and problem-solving skills,excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work independently and as part of a team
* US Person per ITAR regulations and able to comply with export compliance requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
* Previous internship or coursework related to EHS or aerospace manufacturing.
* Familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
* Experience in conducting audits or assessments.
* Experience in Cal-OSHA regulations.
Compensation Data
Salary: $25.00/hr
