Summary

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * Develop and implement health and safety plans, protocols, and procedures to ensure compliance with legal requirements. * Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions. * Collaborate with management to develop emergency response plans and conduct regular drills. * Monitor workplace environments, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. * Manage and oversee environmental permit applications. * Routinely inspect and conduct audits to meet permit and regulatory requirements. * Manage the ESG reporting process. * Research and provide feedback on EHS related requests for information. * Provide training to employees on safety procedures, regulations, and best practices. * Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and implement preventive measures. * Maintain accurate records of incidents, inspections, and regulatory compliance. * Coordinate waste disposal, pollution control, and other environmental programs. * Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies and ensure timely reporting and remediation of compliance issues. * Stay updated on current regulations and safety standards related to occupational health and environmental safety. * Lead employee safety committees and encourage participation in safety initiatives. * Ensure the availability and use of personal protective equipment (PPE). * Conduct risk assessments and implement appropriate risk mitigation strategies. * Ensure contractors are in compliance with all company rules and regulations. * Serve as the functional leader for the Workers' Compensation program, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of incidents, coordinating with insurance providers, and facilitating the return-to-work program. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES * Performs other work-related duties as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * At least five (5) years of recent related Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) experience EDUCATION: * Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health, Environmental Science, or a related field. * Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar certification. * 5+ years of experience in EHS management. EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS PREFERRED * Experience in accident investigation and root cause analysis. * Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations. * Excellent communication and training skills. * Experience with safety management software and tools. * Knowledge of hazardous materials management. * Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and standards. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. * Excellent organizational and time-management skills. * Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHS software. * Strong written and verbal communication skills. * Ability to conduct training sessions and presentations. * Familiarity with emergency response and crisis management protocols.
