seasonal, full time Educator Development Assistant. The Educator Development Assistant is a highly motivated, detail oriented and enthusiastic position that contributes to the organization, delivery and evaluation of an annual educator in-service. The Assistant will oversee all the logistical details for participants, presenters and staff and ensure accurate expense tracking. This role supports a project aimed at improving environmental literacy among Canadians by integrating environmental education into educator training and professional development and involves some travel within Southern Alberta.

Contract:
- Start Date: June 2025
- End Date: August 2025
What you will do:
- Coordinate and communicate travel details for participants, presenters and staff.
- Booking all amenities for a seven day in-service (ie vehicle rental, hotels, meals, etc).
- Maintain accurate expense tracking
- Assist with in-service content planning when possible, participating in collaborator meetings and post in-service follow ups.
- Assist with delivery of in-service at multiple venues.
- Assist with project communications and raising community awareness.
What you will bring:
- High School Diploma is required
- At least 2 years of administrative experience is required
- A valid driver’s license is required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Keen attention to detail, ability to balance multiple priorities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team.
- Experience or interest in working with teachers/educators.
Working Conditions:
- Mobilize and conduct programming in all weather conditions
- Ability to lift light loads (up to 30 lbs), pull a wagon of resources around Zoo Grounds, set up and take down tables and chairs
- Some desk and computer work
The Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo is an outdoor facility and all staff working at the zoo must be comfortable working in a large variety of outdoor conditions. The Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo follows the advice of Environment Canada when responding to temperature and air quality issues.
