Summary

Location: Egypt, 100% remote work-from-home position (You must permanently live and have the right to work in Egypt to apply for this position)

Pay Rate: $4.50 USD per hour.

Contract: 12-month contract with an extension highly likely. Self-employed contractor. Responsible for own taxes. No benefits.

The Role

Here at Twinkl we are currently looking for content writers and editors to join our Twinkl Global Arabic team and create exceptional resources in Arabic to help teachers in the Middle East. We are looking for creative, innovative, cooperative content writers/editors to join our team and collaborate with making perfect Arabic content on our website.

You will be helping to create Arabic resources specifically designed to follow the teaching curriculums of the Middle East. As a team we are looking to add new creative ideas and engaging resources to improve our Arabic content on the website.

You will create innovative printable and digital Arabic teaching resources that address key standards in teaching Arabic Grammar for Advanced years (age 7 to 16).

In your role as a writer/editor, you will focus on quality when writing content and help ensure that the content of our resources the writers have written is accurate and well written, helping us to deliver high-quality Arabic materials to children around the world.

As part of the Twinkl Global Arabic team, you will communicate with other team members and attend weekly meetings to stay updated on the progress of our work. You will be part of an agile team that communicates via email, messaging, and video meetings. To fulfil this role, you will need to provide your own technology and have reliable high-speed internet access.

The content you write will be turned into professional Twinkl products by our highly skilled design and illustration team.

How You’ll Spend Your Day

  • Creating Arabic resources following the product scheme, reviewing and editing content that our writers have created to ensure it is accurate, well written, suitable for the target year group and providing the correct level of challenge and support.
  • Meeting, working and communicating with other team members in a scrum team to achieve sprint goals.
  • Researching Arabic educational resource trends and ideas to make sure your assigned resources will be instant hits with our millions of global members.

In This Role, You Will Learn

  • How to create exceptional Arabic content following the guidelines of Modern Arabic standard (Fos-ha).
  • How to adapt new ideas to fit a new market.
  • How a scrum team works together across different markets and countries.

  • Other Twinkl Global Arabic team members.

We are interested in anyone who also meets the following:

  • Qualifications: Hold A bachelor's university degree in education.
  • Qualifications: English language from accredited institutions in Egypt.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ Egyptian public classroom experience, classroom teaching within the last 12 months in one of the earlier mentioned areas in Arabic in Egypt.
  • Have an excellent understanding of Arabic and excellent spelling and punctuation skills in Arabic.
  • Be creative, accurate, always bring new ideas to the table and be able to communicate in English to C1 level
  • Be prepared to confidently work between different IT platforms, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and G Suite;
  • Understand the teaching community in the Middle East, knowing their unique pressures and current educational trends;
  • Have a drive for continuous professional development.
