The Editorial Content Manager of the Brentwood Baptist Church is responsible for overseeing all content of Brentwood Baptist Church from a story and editorial perspective, under the direction of the Digital Strategy Director. Primary responsibilities include writing and editing all content published or promoted through all campuses of Brentwood Baptist Church and its various media and communication outlets.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES may include but are not limited to the following:
Write well-researched, informative, relevant, creative, and compelling content for distribution, broadcast, publication, or posting in a manner that is consistent with the brand, look, feel, and voice of Brentwood Baptist Church.
Ensure that all promotional pieces containing written content are grammatically, punctually, and contextually edited, proofed, and formatted to meet standards according to the Chicago Manual of Style, Christian Writer’s Manual of Style, Associated Press Handbook, and Brentwood Baptist Church Style Guide.
Lead in the writing, editing, development, and upkeep of all written material including, but not limited to:
Promotional copy
Website copy
Bulletins (weekly)
Weekly Campus email
Marketing email campaigns
Press releases
Video scripts
Church-wide publications and special projects
All other printed/digital materials
Under the direction of the Digital Strategy Director, provide develop and implement marketing email campaigns through identifying audiences, writing appropriate copy and developing appropriate calls to action.
Provide editorial direction and vision for communications team. Work with Digital Strategy Director and team to set goals and implement action for this ministry as it relates to the editorial presence of the department.
Provide editorial support for the Senior Pastor’s materials.
Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES may include but are not limited to the following:
Proactively work with other ministries to create and refine their stories and content
Stay up-to-date on current trends and consistently update the church style guide
Attend both Communications team meetings and Brentwood Baptist staff meetings as required
Maintain media contact list for editorial purposes
Provide editorial support for church leadership as needed
Complete other duties as assigned by the Digital Strategy Director

QUALIFICATIONS:
Can identify closely with the mission, values, vision, theology, philosophy and methodology of Brentwood Baptist Church.
A mature Christian who is demonstrates the Fruit of the Spirit, is growing in their faith and is committed to spiritual disciplines such as Bible reading, prayer.
Ability to collaborate, cooperate and function well in a team environment.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or English
Five years experience with storytelling and editorial content creation and/or management is required; time in a Christian organization is a strong plus.
