Job Description:
Assists the production editorial, headed by a production editor (PE), in the preparation of raw and edited manuscripts,
Making sure that they are encoded, organized, readable and checked for completeness contributes concepts for the development of the appropriate cover and layout design of the instructional materials,
Collaborating with graphics and marketing departments in ensuring the designs get approval on time
Helps in the preparation of galley proof proofreads and counterchecks galley and laid out proofs for entirety, factual accuracy, language and comprehensiveness,
Alerting the production team for errors and issues that could reasonably compromise the quality of the instructional materials coordinates with other departments involved, such as graphic artists, development editors, printers, and other production staff to monitor timetable for stages and meet the deadline in the publishing processes prepares art logs and researches photos or images for the instructional materials preparations and assistance in requesting for permissions for use of photos, artworks, and/or literary piece
Assists in the transmittal/routing of manuscripts between authors, editors, and the editorial
Helps in checking/drafting of bibliographic data helps in filing, photocopying, printing, binding, encoding, answering phone inquiries, and other routine administrative tasks.
Job Qualifications:
Graduate of any 4 yr. course relating to the following subjects (Science, Math, English, Filipino, Journalism, Mass Communication, Education)
Experience in editorial works and or Curriculum planning is a plus but not required
Has good writing, grammar and proof-reading skills.
