DSHS ESH Forensic Care Associate 3

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Forensic Care Associate 3 where you’ll provide care at Eastern State Hospital to individuals experiencing mental illness located in Medical Lake, WA.

We are seeking a motivated teammate with a passion for helping people. In this role, you will make real, lasting differences in the lives of our patients. Come be part of a team that helps people on their way to recovery.

This position is on day shift, 6:30am-3:00pm, with Monday and Tuesday as days off.

Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.

Some Of What You'll Do

  • Provide mentoring, orientating to the ward, and training on administrative tasks to new staff assigned to the wards
  • Assist with patient admissions by orienting them to the ward/living unit
  • Assist RN by taking vitals, height/weight, and inventory of personal items and clothing
  • Prepare patients for transfer to other wards/living units by performing an inventory of their personal items, gathering medical records, and then escorting the patient to a new ward/living unit
  • Educate patients on activities of daily living and encourage participation in social and recreational activities
  • Complete rounds and patient census
  • Perform safety inspections of the ward unit
  • Deliver care per treatment plan
  • Order stock supplies and PPE, manage patient funds, and complete equipment checks

Required Qualifications

Must have a High School diploma or GED.

AND

Three years experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting.

AND

Current unincumbered Washington State Nursing Assistant Registration (NAR), Nursing Assistant Certified certification (NAC), or a current unincumbered Washington State Certified Medical Assistant Certification (MA).
