Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Drone LiDAR Pilot to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating drone systems equipped with LiDAR technology to conduct high-precision surveys and data collection for various projects, including topographic mapping, and infrastructure analysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of aerial surveying, geospatial data processing, and a passion for innovative technology. Key Responsibilities: Operate drones equipped with LiDAR systems for aerial surveys and data collection. Conduct pre-flight planning, including route mapping and site assessments. Ensure compliance with all FAA regulations and company safety protocols during flight operations. Process and analyze LiDAR data using specialized software (e.g., Autodesk, GIS platforms). Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to interpret data and deliver actionable insights. Maintain and troubleshoot drone equipment to ensure optimal performance. Prepare detailed reports and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations. Stay current with advancements in drone and LiDAR technology and industry best practices. Qualifications: Experience with drone operations and LiDAR technology preferred. Proficiency in geospatial data processing software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS, CloudCompare). Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for fieldwork as needed. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Geomatics, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. Experience in a specific industry (e.g., Site surveying, Topographical survey and Mapping, Aerial Videography) is a plus. Familiarity with photogrammetry and 3D modeling techniques.
