Overview Of Position
The Principal Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the SAP implementation to S/4 HANA within the Finance program for a public sector K-12 education client. This role requires a strategic and hands-on approach to project management, ensuring that all project phases from planning through execution are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. The Senior Project Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage risks and issues, facilitate stakeholder engagement, and ensure smooth integration of SAP systems into the existing infrastructure.
Previous experience managing ERP projects, and specifically SAP, is highly preferred.
Essential Functions
30%
- Manages projects to develop new and/or enhance existing information technology systems; plans and directs all project activities from project concept through implementation; develops and manages project schedules, resource plans, scope, budget, risk, and communication plans with appropriate input from stakeholders.

- Manage, lead, and coach other technology Project Managers.
- Provide training and mentoring in Project Management fundamentals and advices on the practical use of the methodology to deliver project initiatives.
- Work with PMs to mitigate project scope, schedule, budget, and dependency risks.

- Manage and track the DoTS project portfolio, project intake, project prioritization process, and conduct resource planning in collaboration with work with other DoTS managers.
- Evaluate and ensure alignment of the project portfolio with District strategy.

- Identifies, develops, and implements best practices in Project Management methodology, project processes, portfolio management, IT Governance and related support tools.

- Work closely with the Chief Information Officer to communicate status, budgeting, and timelines on the DoTS project portfolio.

Experience/Education
Typical Qualifications
A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Eight (8) to ten (10) years of experience managing technology projects, experience providing project leadership and direction to technical teams in the development of technical systems; Bachelor's degree in Technology Project Management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the work will be considered.
